According to evidence and research, Sukhothai was Thailand’s first monarchy for extended periods of time. During the period, Ruler Ramkhamhaeng, the great king of Sukhothai, established an early Thai alphabet, and there were also documents describing occurrences during the king’s reign. Following the Sukhothai period, other kingdoms formed, including Ayuthaya, Thonburi, and Rattanakosin, the current monarchy of Thailand. Each epoch has its own set of significant historical events and intriguing cultural developments.
